The application of concrete is very wide – from a cot to a castle, and it is hard to imagine a better foundation for a house or a more firm material for a floor. Yet without the addition of lime the good properties of concrete would be reduced.

Lime is used:

Autoclaved concrete
in the production of autoclaved aerated concrete which is a perfect heat insulation material in combination with its lightness. Lime is essential in this process in that unslaked lime is mixed with cement, sand , water and aluminium powder thereby creating milkiness that swells and hardens by providing the porous structure of the blocks, which, in its turn, ensures better heat and sound insulation.
